What type of company is Tristro? Well, it is difficult to give a typical answer because we are not a typical company. You can consider us a consulting company of sorts because we find unique ways to build, enhance, and synergize our companies. You can also consider us a technology company because we utilize and engineer digital concepts to streamline existing processes to benefit our customers.
Ultimately though, our mission at Tristro is to make easy-to-use products and services that simplify your life.
It all began with the initials "MPM" (you may have noticed "MPM" in some of our company names). Those initials represent our names: Melanie, Philip, and Michael. All three of us have been involved from the beginning, learning from our parents the value of faith, service, and hard work.
In the early ’90s, we launched our first "MPM" business: candy crane machines! As kids, we could not have been happier with our parents’ decision to get involved in a business that revolved around candy! Our first job was mixing candy…and it just didn’t seem like work when we could eat Chuckles the whole time.
Today, the candy business is gone, but the ideals of our Company remain and our values continue to be instilled in everything we do. All of our businesses share the same guiding principle:
Co-founder of Tristro, Phil is an entrepreneur and developer who focuses on backend technology and business strategies. He has a passion for writing web applications that use cutting-edge technology to provide customers with advanced functionality without sacrificing usability.
Phil developed the brain, an advanced childcare management system that combines the conveniences of web-based software with the power of a fingerprint-based time and attendance kiosk at each location. Most recently, Phil developed the e-commerce platform for MPM School Supplies.
Co-founder of Tristro, Michael is a marketer who focuses most of his efforts on generating traffic and sales online through search engine optimization, social media, email marketing, and paid advertising. By staying up-to-date with the ever-changing search algorithms, he is able to continually get websites ranked highly in the three major search engines-Google, Bing, and Yahoo-using strictly "white hat" techniques.
Co-founder of Tristro, Melanie began her career in our childcare operations as an administrative assistant. She currently serves as resident bean counter and assists in maintaining our expansive product catalog.
Melanie has a passion for perfection and employs her attention to detail and organizational skills to keep our office running smoothly.
Amy is a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and has been in the Print and Adversting market for over 20 years. Amy loves helping people and as our primary customer liason, she ensures every Tristro customer has an excellent experience!
Amy is a mother of two daughters and is very family oriented. She loves the outdoors, especially gardening and fishing!
After graduating college in December of 2009 with a degree in both accounting and finance, it didn't take Kayla long to realize she didn't want to pursue a career in either. Instead, she decided to put her passion and love for children to good use as she became the chief editor for Tristro.
Kayla focuses primarily on writing for Tristro's educational blogs. Using her creativity and imagination, she helps educators inspire students of all ages by writing about everything from interactive classroom decorations to fun and engaging lesson plans and activities.
